Fire Coverage

Fire Class Suitability

The 1 Kg ABC extinguisher is rated for three fire classes under IS 15683 and international fire classification standards.

Class A — Solid fires

Wood, paper, fabric, rubber, plastics, upholstery. Powder coats the surface, smothers the flame, and prevents re-ignition.

Homes, offices, libraries, schools

Class B — Liquid fires

Petrol, diesel, paint, solvents, oil, grease. Powder interrupts the chemical chain reaction and creates an oxygen barrier.

Workshops, garages, fuel storage

Class C — Electrical fires

Switchboards, motors, computers, control panels. ABC powder is non-conductive — safe for live electrical equipment.

Offices, server rooms, panels

Features

Key Features of Savemax ABC Stored Pressure Fire Extinguisher

Every Savemax ABC SP 1 Kg unit is engineered for reliability, compliance, and ease of use — no prior training required.

ISI Mark

ISI marked — IS 2171 compliant

BIS-audited at our Sonipat facility for pressure performance, agent purity, discharge duration, and structural integrity.

CPWD approved

Eligible for government buildings, public infrastructure, PSU facilities, and defence establishment procurement.

Euro certified (EN 3)

Dual certification — Indian BIS and European EN 3 — preferred by MNCs, embassies, and international project contractors.

Stored pressure — instant discharge

Nitrogen and powder stored together under continuous pressure. No activation delay. Discharge on trigger, every time.

Pressure indicating gauge

Colour-coded Bourdon gauge: green = ready, red left = under-pressure, red right = over-pressure. Visible at a glance.

Safety pin & tamper seal

Safety pin prevents accidental discharge. Tamper-evident seal confirms the unit has not been used — critical for fire audits.

Compact & lightweight (ā‰ˆ 2 Kg gross)

At 330–350 mm height and under 2 Kg, it fits in a car boot, on a wall bracket, or at a reception desk with minimal footprint.

Wide temperature range (-20°C to +60°C)

Reliable in cold storage facilities, refrigerated transport, industrial environments, and extreme Indian weather conditions.

Pass

How to operate — PASS technique

Follow these four steps. No prior training is required to operate a stored pressure fire extinguisher.

P

Pull

Pull the safety pin from the valve handle to break the tamper seal and unlock the squeeze grip.

A

Aim

Aim the discharge nozzle at the base of the fire, not the flames. This cuts off the fuel source.

S

Squeeze

Squeeze the grip handle firmly. ABC dry powder discharges in 8–10 seconds at 1.5–2.5 metre range.

S

Sweep

Sweep side to side at the fire base until fully extinguished. Back away – do not turn your back.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is the Savemax 1 Kg ABC fire extinguisher ISI certified?

Yes. The Savemax ABC Stored Pressure 1 Kg fire extinguisher carries the BIS/ISI mark, confirming it is manufactured in compliance with IS 2171 — the Bureau of Indian Standards specification for portable dry chemical powder fire extinguishers. Every unit is subject to BIS quality audits at our Sonipat manufacturing facility.

Stored pressure means the expellant gas (nitrogen) and the firefighting agent (ABC dry powder) are stored together inside the same cylinder under continuous pressure. This design provides instant discharge when the valve is operated — with no activation delay — and includes a built-in pressure gauge to confirm operational readiness at any time.

The Savemax 1 Kg ABC stored pressure extinguisher has a discharge time of approximately 8–10 seconds at an effective range of 1.5–2.5 metres. This is sufficient to suppress an incipient-stage (early) Class A, B, or C fire in a confined space such as a car cabin, small room, or kiosk.

Yes. The ABC dry powder agent is non-conductive and is rated for Class C fires — including energised electrical equipment such as switchboards, extension cords, computers, and control panels. However, after suppression, the electrical source should be isolated immediately and the affected equipment inspected before resuming use.

Even if unused, the Savemax 1 Kg ABC extinguisher should be refilled and recharged every 12 months — or immediately after any use, even partial discharge. A 6-monthly visual inspection is also mandatory to ensure the pressure gauge remains in the green zone, the pin is intact, and there is no body damage.

Yes. The 1 Kg ABC stored pressure fire extinguisher is one of the most widely recommended units for private cars, SUVs, and passenger vehicles. Its compact size (330–350 mm height, ~2 Kg gross weight) fits easily in a car boot or under a seat. It is compliant with transport and insurance requirements for vehicle-mounted fire extinguishers in India.

The primary differences are in discharge duration, effective range, and coverage area. The 2 Kg variant provides approximately 10–13 seconds of discharge at a slightly longer range — suitable for small offices or retail spaces where the 1 Kg may be insufficient. The 1 Kg is optimised specifically for personal, vehicular, and very small-space applications.

Yes. Savemax manufactures and supplies portable fire extinguishers in bulk for fleet operators, project contractors, government tenders, housing developers, and facility management companies. Bulk pricing, branded packaging, and delivery scheduling can be arranged. Please submit an enquiry with your quantity and location details.
